Applications for High School Upgrading are accepted only twice a year, for the fall and winter semesters. We do not process applications at any other times. Students who are still eligible to attend their home high school cannot register with Chinook Learning Services for the fall or winter semesters.
The application period for the fall semester opens in June.
The application period for the winter semester opens in December.
Application Steps
Submit your application form (made available at Registration & Fees) when the application period is open. Once you submit, you will be provided with a link to book your virtual appointment with an academic advisor.
Book your virtual appointment with an academic advisor. You cannot be registered without an appointment. Appointment availability is limited, so apply early. Spaces in classrooms are filled first come, first approved by academic advisors.
Send all your required Legal Documentation by email immediately after you have booked your virtual appointment. Temporary Residents, 19 years of age or younger, must have their legal documentation approved by the Calgary Board of Education (CBE) Welcome Centre.
Attend your virtual appointment with an academic advisor. Your registration will be confirmed following the meeting and you will receive a registration confirmation email. If REGISTRATION capacity is reached, you may be waitlisted.
