English Language Proficiency Requirements |

High School Upgrading students are required to have adequate English language proficiency and may be required to provide proof of one of the following benchmarks. Meeting these benchmarks does not guarantee programming availability. An assessment may be required at the time of registration.
Students Under 20
- Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment (CLBA): Minimum of 6 in each strand
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Minimum of 6.0 in each category
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Minimum of 80
- Minimum of level 4 English language proficiency (LP4) for students currently studying in Grades 10-12 in Alberta
Students Over 20
- Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment (CLBA): Minimum of 8 in each strand
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Minimum of 6.0 in each category
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Minimum of 85
- Minimum of level 4 English language proficiency (LP4) for students currently studying in Grades 10-12 in Alberta
Students Requesting to Register for EAL Level 4
- Canadian Language Benchmark (CLBA): Minimum of 5 in each strand
- Minimum of level 3 English Language Proficiency (LP3) for students currently studying in Grades 10-12 in Alberta
