Overview

All students registered in Biology 30, Chemistry 30, English Language Arts 30-1, English Language Arts 30-2, Mathematics 30-1, Mathematics 30-2, Physics 30, Science 30, Social Studies 30-1 and Social Studies 30-2 are required to write a Diploma Exam in order to receive credits and a final mark.

• myPass.alberta.ca (Alberta Education) is a self-service website for Alberta high school students to register to write a diploma exam, view and print diploma exam results, order high school transcripts, and more.

Students must review Approved Calculators Only for Mathematics and Science Diploma Exams and Approved Materials for Part A Diploma Exams for English Language Arts and Social Studies.

June 2025 Diploma Exams

First time writers are automatically registered for Diploma Exams.

• Forest Lawn students will write their Diploma Exams at Forest Lawn High School
• James Fowler students will write their Diploma Exams at Forest Lawn High School
• Lord Beaverbrook students will write their Diploma Exams at Lord Beaverbrook High School

Advanced self-registration is required for rewriters and most temporary residents (holder of a Study Permit, Work Permit, Convention Refugee or Refugee Claimant). Students are required to pay at time of registration. All students must confirm their registration status at myPass.alberta.ca (Alberta Education) prior to the deadline to ensure a seat is available at the location that they took their course.

Diploma Rewrite Fees

Diploma Rewrite Fees are not included in course fees. All students rewriting a Diploma Exam, whether they are in a current class or not, must register and pay online for each exam. Students who do not register and pay the Diploma Rewrite Fee will not have a seat assigned and will not have an exam available to write. Please note that if more than two years has passed since the student’s previous attempt to write the exam, the rewrite fee will not be charged.

Location & Schedule

Please re-confirm your registration status and diploma schedule in myPass.alberta.ca (Alberta Education) prior to the start of exams (student accounts are disabled from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Part A Diploma Exams days). Contact the Chinook Main Office at your respective site if you have additional questions/concerns.

• Only current Winter 2025 Chinook students are permitted to write June 2025 diploma exams at Forest Lawn High School or Lord Beaverbrook High School locations. Students not attending Chinook who wish to write a June 2025 Diploma Exam should register at the Calgary Provincial Writing Centre through myPass.alberta.ca (Alberta Education).

Special Accommodations

Students applying for accommodations for June 2025 Diploma Exams should contact Student Services at their respective site to complete the application process. Late applications and logs may result in accommodations being denied.
