Overview

All students registered in Biology 30, Chemistry 30, English Language Arts 30-1, English Language Arts 30-2, Mathematics 30-1, Mathematics 30-2, Physics 30, Science 30, Social Studies 30-1 and Social Studies 30-2 are required to write a Diploma Exam in order to receive credits and a final mark.

• myPass.alberta.ca (Alberta Education) is a self-service website for Alberta high school students to register to write a diploma exam, view and print diploma exam results, order high school transcripts, and more.
• Diploma Exam Rules & Procedures
• New - the weighting of Diploma Exams will return to 30% effective September 1, 2023.

Students must review Approved Calculators Only for Mathematics and Science Diploma Exams and Approved Materials for Part A Diploma Exams for English Language Arts and Social Studies.

August 2024 Diploma Exams

First time writers are automatically registered for Diploma Exams. Advanced registration is required for rewriters and non-funded (international) students. Students are required to pay at time of registration. All students must confirm their registration status at myPass.alberta.ca (Alberta Education) prior to July 3, 2024 to ensure a seat is available.

Location & Schedule

New - ONLY Social Studies 30-2 Part A and Part B Diploma Exams will be written at Lord Shaughnessy High School (map). All other August Diploma Exams, for in-person and online classes, will be written at Nelson Mandela High School (map).

Rewriters & Non-Funded (International Students)

Rewriters & non-funded (International Students) must register and pay in advance using myPass.alberta.ca (Alberta Education)

• Registration in myPass will be open from June 18 - July 3, 2024
• Select CLS Alternative Site (S.2452)
• Enter your summer school teacher’s name (found in your confirmation email for in-person classes or in D2L for online classes)
• Students must pay at the time of registration or no seat will be assigned
• Diploma rewrite fees are not included in course fees

Special Accommodations

If you received special accommodations for Diploma Exams during the regular school year you will likely qualify to receive them for Summer School as well. New requests for special accommodations may not be accepted.
