 Laila Karame
Laila Karame was born in Mexico City, where she graduated from Oxford School with a bilingual degree in Commerce. She worked as an executive bilingual secretary before coming to Canada. Laila started teaching Spanish at Chinook Learning Services 20 years ago.
She is also the founder of Comprende! English-Spanish Communications, which provides English/Spanish translations and simultaneous interpretation services for international and political forums. She has worked with a broad variety of government agencies and corporate clients from various industries.
Laila’s passion for her work stems from her inquisitive mind and long after graduating she continues to take numerous courses including those offered by Continuing Education at Chinook. It gives her great satisfaction to see her students motivated and enthusiastic to continue learning and to be able to express themselves in Spanish. Laila’s sense of humour and the relaxed atmosphere she creates make her classes fun and a positive learning experience.
