High School Upgrading Registration & Fees

Winter 2026 Classroom Learning | New Downtown Location

Beginning February 2026, all in-person High School Upgrading courses will be relocated downtown to 332 - 6 Ave SE, Calgary, AB. See New Downtown Location for more information. Enrol early - courses may fill or be cancelled due to low registration. All ages can apply for all courses.

  • Book your virtual appointment with an academic advisor.
  • Virtual appointments will take place from January 19 - 27, 2026
  • You will receive a confirmation email once your virtual appointment is booked.
Step 3

If you are a non-Canadian citizen and 19 years of age or younger:

  • Contact the CBE Welcome Centre at 403-817-7789 or by email (welcome@cbe.ab.ca) to book a registration appointment.
  • You will receive confirmation that you are eligible to register, missing documentation can delay registration.

For all other applicants:

  • Attend your virtual appointment with an academic advisor.
  • Your registration will be confirmed following the meeting and you will receive a registration confirmation email.

Registration Requirements

Students who are still eligible to attend their home high school are not permitted to register with Chinook Learning Services for Fall or Winter semesters. An in-person assessment may be required to guide initial course placement. This will be discussed and, if required, scheduled during your virtual appointment.

Students are required to have adequate English language proficiency.

Fee Information

Fees must be paid in-person or through your MyCBE account prior to the start of classes. Waivers are not applicable. Diploma Rewrite Fees are not included in High School Upgrading course fees.

Need Help?

Summer School

Summer School is offered to students in July at multiple school locations. Students take courses in order to upgrade or to provide flexibility in their high school programs. Classes are held in the mornings during weekdays in July. Diploma Examinations are written in the first week of August.
