Adult ESL Registration

To register into an ESL course:

1. Call 403-777-6330 to make an appointment for a placement test
2. Talk to a course advisor to plan your courses
3. Get funding information, if needed. Registration is on-going

Adult ESL Resident Fees

• Core Courses: 12 hours per week for 7 weeks
  • $780 / Core Course
• Skill Courses: 4 hours per week for 7 weeks
  • $260 / Skill Course
• 1 Core Course & 2 Skill Courses: 20 hours per week for 7 weeks
  • $1300 / 1 Core & 2 Skill Courses
• Accelerated Academic Preparation: 20 hours per week for 14 weeks
  • $2600 / Accelerated Academic Preparation Course

• LINC: Students receive up to 1500 hours of free instruction. Tuition is free of charge for those students qualifying for the LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) program

Adult ESL Text Fees

All students enrolled in Core and Accelerated Academic Preparation classes must pay a book fee of:

• $100 / semester

Welcome International Students

ESL tuition fees for individuals include: health insurance, textbooks & additional classroom materials, academic counselling, Student ID Card, computer lab access and free printing.

• International Student Application Form (PDF)
• International Homestay Application Form (PDF)
• If you want to study in Canada, you need to obtain a Study Permit (Citizenship & Immigration Canada)

Chinook Learning Services also offers International School Programs for student groups requiring English Language Learning.

Income Tax Policy for Adult ESL

Students taking Adult ESL courses cannot claim a tuition or education amount for income tax purposes (T2202A) for 2011. For more information, see Students & Income Tax (external PDF, Canada Revenue Agency).
