Requirements / Expectations for Participation
Applicants for Off-Campus Programs must be high school students, 15 years of age or older. The students will be under the supervision of a certificated teacher and the employing organization. Hours of work for the students are between 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, Monday through Sunday. Students are expected to be prompt and regular in attendance at work. Students will be assessed and awarded a mark. Work activity is based on 25 hours for one (1) credit. Winter Off-Campus and Summer Off-Campus programs have different application criteria.
For Summer Off-Campus
- CTR 1010 or HCS3000
Must be successfully completed prior to any work experience credits being granted. Some programs require successful completion of specific safety courses and/or certifications.
- Submit Registration Form
Download Off-Campus Summer Student Registration 2011 (PDF). This form must be completed and returned to your School Work Experience teacher, Counsellor or Career Practitioner for submission to Chinook Learning Services.
- Resume & Cover Letter
Submit a resume and cover letter with the Off-Campus Student Registration Form.
- Trade Specific Requirements
RAP students must participate in safety training sessions.
- Personal Safety - CTR1210
Required by students before entering into a Trades Program
- Construction Safety - CTR2210
Required by students before entering into a Construction Trades Program
For Winter Off-Campus (Specialized Programs)
- HCS 3000
Students should have completed this high school course before beginning their work experience placement. However, Chinook Learning Services will offer HCS 3000 as part of the Winter Off-Campus Program.
