English as a Second Language (ESL)
Improve your English skills in a dynamic English program taught by highly qualified instructors. Our ESL Program offers high beginner to advanced levels that will help you improve your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Eight levels ensure that you will be placed in a level that is right for you
If you have high-level reading and writing skills, you may take our full-time intensive English Accelerated Academic Preparation Courses to help you prepare for post-secondary entrance. This course focuses on developing the English skills you require to succeed in college, technical school or university.
High School Upgrading
Are you looking to obtain Alberta High School Upgradings in order to prepare for further study? We offer everything from math to science to art. Our website has a listing of our High School Courses. Please note: Admission to High School Upgrading courses is dependent upon successful completion of an ESL assessment. We will recommend the ESL program as an alternative if necessary.
Summer Youth Programs
Chinook Learning Services, working with the Calgary Board of Education’s International Bureau, welcomes students and teachers to summer cultural-study tours. To arrange one of these tours, please contact ajfischer@cbe.ab.ca. These tours include:
- Studying ESL
- Visiting cultural attractions such as the Glenbow Museum
- Visiting sites, including touring the Rocky Mountains
- Meeting Canadian students
