Overview
The LINC Program (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) is funded
by Citizenship
and Immigration Canada (an external link) and provides FREE
basic language instruction to adult immigrants. The curriculum includes
information that teaches newcomers about the Canadian way of life and
helps them integrate into Canadian society. For more information about

Adult LINC Program
- Classes to improve reading, grammar, writing, listening and speaking
skills
- Full-time daytime classes
- Part-time daytime & evening classes
- Classes from LINC 1 to LINC 5
- Free child minding service while parents study at northwest & northeast locations
- Full-time classes at Balmoral Bungalow or Viscount Bennett Centre
- Part-time morning and afternoon classes at Marlborough location in the northeast
- Part-time evening classes at Tuxedo Park Campus
Young Adult LINC Program
- Students 18 to 24-years-old learn English together
- Reading, writing, grammar, listening and speaking as well as computer skills
- Employment preparation support
- Full-time classes held at the Calgary Achievement Centre for Youth
at the Alberta Trade Centre: 315 - 10 Avenue SE
ILVARC
All LINC clients are referred by the Immigrant Language and Assessment Referral Centre (ILVARC), a service of the Immigrant Services Calgary (an external link to their main website).
