LINC Program

Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada is a basic level ESL program offered free of charge to landed immigrants and refugees. Learn more about LINC.

Welcome International Students

Chinook welcomes individual international students, who are over 18 years of age, to study our ESL or High School Upgrading programs.

Chinook Learning Services also offers International School Programs for student groups requiring English Language Learning.

Other Chinook Programs

  • Transitions to Alberta Classrooms (TAC): Foreign trained teachers with Alberta certification can prepare for employment with our Immigrant Bridging Program, learn more.
  • 2010 Summer School: ESL programs are offered in July for High School and Elementary/Junior High students.

About Our ESL Teachers

Chinook's teachers have many years of teaching experience and have taken graduate level courses in ESL methodology and linguistics. They hold Alberta Teaching Certificates and are continually working on new ways to improve their teaching methods. Chinook ESL teachers make use of new technologies, such as the Internet, to teach ESL, and are a highly motivated team who work with you to improve your English skills.
