Suzanne Shaw
Travel as a young adult lead Suzanne to love the French language. With the desire to keep up her French, Suzanne studied Education at Faculte St. Jean at the University of Alberta. She has since taught all grades of school and in 2006 was drawn to Chinook Learning Services. Here she fulfilled a personal goal to teach adults. Suzanne discovered that teaching adults has truly been one of her favourite teaching experiences: sharing what she knows with eager learners.
In her spare time, Suzanne began Felt Making as a hobby. She had been knitting and crocheting since the age of 6 and was drawn to the art of working with wool. Her “hobby” has grown into an industry producing a number of felt creations that she sells at various markets and on her website. Suzanne also has a number of art pieces for sale at the Calgary Gallery, “Art on Atlantic”.
Born and raised in Calgary and married with two children, Suzanne spends her limited spare time felting, travelling, and enjoys most sports including swimming and skiing.
