Silvia Acevedo
Silvia has over 20 years of experience in education and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology. After several years of teaching biology, she edited a series of Natural Science books Viva la Ciencia issued in Colombia and exported to Guatemala, Panama and Costa Rica. She also coauthored Enciclopedia Tematica, a Biology encyclopedia. Prior to obtaining her degree she was involved in education by teaching art courses to elementary students. Given her combined love for education and children she co-founded an after school institute and worked there as a Spanish and Natural Science tutor.
She moved with her family to Canada in 2002 and became involved in the community by providing Spanish instruction to oil and gas industry executives.
In 2007, she became a member of the Chinook Learning Services Spanish Instructional Team. She enjoys teaching and interacting with students as well as seeing how they develop their skills.
