She has provided services for the government of Canada; Missions of the U.S. Department of Commerce as well as for Team Canada Business Missions to South America. For the past 18 years, she has specialized in teaching Spanish as a second language to adults and children.
She relocated to Canada at the end of 2000 and started working for the Calgary Board of Education and Chinook Learning Services in 2001.
She finds that teaching a new language is extremely rewarding. “You see people struggle in the process but you also see them making huge progress and learning the language, becoming able to communicate and successfully use it. In some cases, you even help them master the language!”
Martha says learning a new language is difficult but worth the effort. “People feel very happy about their advancements and often express their gratefulness for your help in getting them there.”
