Judy Mahon
Judy, a seasoned educator, has taught adult education for 30 years. She was born and raised in Calgary and, at the age of three, began wielding craft scissors like an expert swordsman! Judy started sewing at the age of six; working with her hands and working with material captivated her “creative bent.” Judy graduated from the University of Alberta, with a B.Sc. in Clothing and Textiles. She also obtained a Certificate in Adult Education from the University of Calgary.
Judy’s career includes five years of industrial sewing manufacturing. Her keen interest in historical costuming led to constructing costumes for Parks Canada, The Banff Centre, Heritage Park and The Provincial Museum of Alberta, as well as free-lance custom clothing design.
More recently, Judy has spread her creativity “wings” and has become a watercolour artist. Judy has taught at all levels of garment construction and design but her passion is Fashion! The ability to share her expertise with her students, and ignite their passion, fuels her teaching.
