Erica Neumann
Erica Neumann has been a language teacher for over 10 years. She began teaching ESL in Germany after getting her BA from the University of Victoria in French and German. She obtained her Masters of Teaching at the University of Calgary with a focus on foreign language acquisition.
She spent a term teaching in Guadalajara where she began to learn yet another language, Spanish. Erica then began teaching for the Calgary Board of Education in the Spanish Bilingual Program in 2005. She received scholarships to study Spanish Language and Culture for Teachers at the University of Granada and the University of Salamanca, Spain. In 2008, she taught in a bilingual elementary school in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where she also met her husband.
Erica has been an instructor with Chinook Learning Services since 2007 teaching Spanish for Parents and is now also involved in the community programs.
She believes in life-long learning and has continued her language and cultural studies in Spain and Mexico. Erica and her husband are also proud parents of a baby girl who is growing up with three languages and cultures!
