Alan MacKenzie
Alan MacKenzie was born in Dublin, Ireland. He graduated from Bolton College in Construction Management and became a member of the Royal Institute of Charted Builders and Royal Institute of Construction Surveyors. He started his career with Sisk and Son Builders as Site Engineer on the construction of the Kilkenny Brewery. In 1972, this company transferred him to Rhodesia (now called Zimbabwe) to manage their precast concrete division, where he stayed on for 10 years.
In 1982, Alan and his family decided to move to Calgary. Here Alan formed his own company, Almac Landscapes, a design and landscape construction company.
He is currently a member of Alberta Society of Engineering Technologists and remains President/Owner of Almac Landscapes Ltd., specializing in residential properties.
He has been an instructor of landscape design and construction with Chinook Learning Services since 1996.
