Requirements / Expectations

In Order to Participate

Requirements - ExpectationsStudent registration must be approved prior to accumulating high school credits.

  • Students must be a minimum of 15 years old.
    • Students must be currently enrolled in high school, or eligible to enrol in high school upgrading.
  • Students must secure a paid or volunteer position acceptable to Chinook.
  • Students must work or volunteer a minimum of 75 hours to receive high school work experience credits (1 credit for every 25 hours).
  • Students can only accumulate hours for high school credit between 6:00 AM - 12:01 AM.
  • Students must successfully complete the prerequisite HCS3000 (Workplace Safety Systems) course before hours can be counted for any Off-Campus program.
    • Fall/Winter Off-Campus: Students who do not already have credit for HCS3000 will be given the opportunity to complete it.
    • Summer Off-Campus: Students must complete HCS3000 through their home high school before registering (see your High School Guidance counsellor if required).
  • Students must attend a Mandatory Online Work Experience Orientation before enrollment is confirmed.
  • Students 20 years of age or older (as of September 1 of the current school year) must have attended a CBE school in the current school year.

Course Fees

Course fees apply to students 20 year of age or older (as of September 1 of the current school year), International Students, and some temporary residents.
