From an early age she has been passionate about teaching and helping others achieving her goals. When she was in Jr. High, she moved to Florida with her parents and lived there for three years. During her university years she enjoyed tutoring school aged children in French and English, as well as teaching literacy skills to children and adults in underprivileged communities. She moved to Calgary in July of 2001 and started working with Chinook Learning as a Spanish instructor in the following year. Ana Cristina started her career with CBE as a Career Counsellor and worked briefly with Immigrant Services Calgary. She has been a high school teacher for over 10 years and has taught several levels of Spanish to high school students and adults. She currently works at Central Memorial High school teaching three levels of Spanish (beginner, intermediate and advanced), beginner French, and English as an Additional Language (EAL). Ana Cristina continues tutoring Spanish, delivering private classes as well as conversation sessions. In her free time, Ana Cristina enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her dog. She loves going camping, hiking, and spending time in the mountains and parks. Participants in Ana Cristina’s classes will learn and develop their Spanish skills with interactive games, conversation activities and cultural exploration activities. Program Area |
