Word - Level 1 is an introductory, instructor-led Microsoft course designed for individuals early in their careers, including receptionists, clerks, and support professionals who prepare correspondence and internal documents. This course is ideal for learners looking to build their confidence in creating, editing, formatting, and printing professional documents. It focuses on introductory Microsoft Word skills that are essential in today’s workplace. This practical course covers:

Lesson 1: Getting Started with Word

  • Create & Save Documents: Start new documents and save your work.
  • Manage Your Workspace: Customize the environment to suit how you work.
  • Edit Documents: Add, delete, and modify text efficiently.
  • Preview & Print: Check your work and print documents easily.
  • Customize Word: Adjust settings and options to fit your workflow.

Lesson 2: Formatting Text & Paragraphs

  • Format Characters: Change font style, size, and color.
  • Adjust Paragraph Layout: Control spacing, indentation, and alignment.
  • Use Tabs: Align text neatly for lists and tables.
  • Create Lists: Make bulleted or numbered lists for clarity.
  • Apply Borders & Shading: Highlight important sections of your document.

Lesson 3: Working More Efficiently

  • Make Repetitive Edits: Save time on frequent changes.
  • Apply Repetitive Formatting: Keep your document consistent.
  • Use Styles: Streamline formatting across your document.

Lesson 4: Managing Lists

  • Sort Lists: Arrange information alphabetically or numerically.
