Spanish for Parents - Level 2

Course Description

Continue building your confidence in Spanish to better support your child’s language learning! This course is designed for parents who have a basic understanding of Spanish and want to expand their communication skills in everyday situations. Through interactive activities, listening exercises, and guided conversations, you will strengthen your vocabulary and improve your ability to understand and speak Spanish with your child at home.

Describe daily routines
Give simple instructions
Discuss school-related topics
Engage in basic conversations
Form more complex sentences using present and past tenses

Course Content

We tailor our courses to meet individual participants’ needs. Course topics may include, but are not limited to:

Vocabulary: family members, clothes, body parts
Basic questions: Qué, Quién, Dónde, Cuándo, Cuánto
Some simple commands (Corre, Trae, Escribe, Come, etc.)
Description of people (¿Cómo es? - Es bajo, alto, simpático...)
Verb TENER - Present tense (Tengo, tienes, tiene…)
Some uses of this verb (tener … años, tener hambre, tener sed…)
Irregular verb (IR and VENIR, PODER)
Yes / No questions (¿Eres curiosa?)
Numbers 20 - 40
AR-ER-IR verbs
Present tense of regular verbs ending - AR (Trabajo, trabajas, trabaja…)
Simple sentences with the verbs ending -AR (Trabajo en Calgary)
Some expressions with the verb ESTAR
¿De quién es?
Possessive adjectives: mi, tu, su…
Days of the week, months
Expressions ¿Por qué? - Porque
Variety of songs and games to enjoy with children
Examples: Hangman, bingos, etc.
