Employment Law Essentials for Managers & HR Professionals

Course Description

Effectively managing employees requires an understanding of both the employee’s rights and the employer’s rights. This two-day interactive, plain English course is designed for non-lawyers, Managers and Human Resource Professionals who require an understanding of the law and practice relating to Employment Law. Learn what is required to terminate an employee’s position legally, ensure there is no breach of a person’s human rights, and draft an employment contract that is valid. This course will review how to write a job description, basic interviewing skills, discuss the legislation and common law related to employment and indicate the potentially costly mistakes many employers make today.
