Technology to Enhance Learning 2

LinkedIn

Fee: $369

Technology can provide a student with a variety of ways to learn. It’s important that the adults who support those students have an understanding of the technology that is available to students in schools. There are so many tools that students are interested in that also engage and encourage learning. This 4-week, in-person course explores creative and innovative tools that are available to all students.

We will cover the following tools over the four weeks:

  1. Adobe Creative Cloud (web-based)
  2. Scratch Coding and Microsoft MakeCode (web-based)
  3. Book Creator (web-based)
  4. Minecraft: Education Edition (requires a PC, Chromebook, Mac, or iPad)

Participants are welcome to bring their own current and up-to-date device but it’s not required. The classes take place in a PC Lab. The first three weeks are focused on web-based tools. Participants will access them on either a PC, Mac, Chromebook or iPad. The fourth week will require a free download of Minecraft: Education edition (available on the same devices) as well as a Microsoft Education account (most school boards have this available).

Who Should Attend?

This course targets an intermediate level of understanding when using technology as a learning tool. All levels of ability are welcome and will be supported. The course is suited to support staff and teachers who work with students.
