Recess Strategies to Survive & Thrive
at School |
|
Fee: $169
Recess can be a time of joy and a time of struggle. Most often recess is unstructured. Students need to find their way to navigate group dynamics and deal with strong personalities; handle frustration and disappointments; make and keep healthy friendships, and let go of unhealthy friendships. Even the most social and confident student can struggle with these demands. Many children require direct teaching to learn how to cope with these social challenges, and come back to calm while at school. This course will provide the helping adult develop strategies to help students deal with peer rejection and conflict resolution; ways to calm the body under stress; and strategies to increase healthy social interactions. This course is suitable for educators and parents.
