Program Information
Chinook welcomes individual International students to enrol in our High School Upgrading and Summer School programs. International students 19 years of age and younger may enrol in daytime and evening classes. International students over 20 years of age may enrol in evening Fall and Winter classes as well as Summer School classes.
At Chinook, you may:
- Obtain Alberta high school credits
- Prepare for your post-secondary education
- Study with highly qualified teachers who will help you meet your academic goals
Eligibility
International students must obtain a valid Study Permit before registering. Chinook Learning Services will issue a Letter of Acceptance upon receipt of an application form and payment of tuition fees in full. Provide a TOEFL or IELTS score. If you have a Study Permit, you are required to be a full-time student.
Placement
When you are on campus, an advisor is available to help you plan your program of studies after an assessment of your language and other academic skills.

Health Insurance
All international students are required to have complete health insurance for the duration of their studies. Health insurance is extra and can be purchased through Chinook Learning Services. Students studying for a year or more are eligible for Alberta Health Insurance. Proof of health insurance must be shown at the time of registration.
