Rosemary BennettRosemary Bennett

Originally from Victoria, BC, Rosemary moved to southern Alberta in the 1970s and has been doing stained glass since 1980. Rosemary’s interest in glass came from friends who worked in the medium. She took a course, started making her own creations and progressed to selling and doing commissions for people part time. Eventually, she took it on full time.

Rosemary is a visual artist who has drawn and painted all her life and takes pleasure in creating her own patterns for stained glass flat work and lamps. She finds it exciting to plan a project and think ahead to how it will look in morning light and throughout the day. She was invited to be in the Creative Living area of the Calgary Stampede for several years and it was a great experience for her to share her ideas and enjoyment for the medium with people from around the world. Pieces of her glass art are in many countries because of this experience. She is still learning new methods, improving her techniques, and stretching her creativity.

Rosemary has been an instructor for Chinook Learning Service since 2008. She finds each group of students interesting and the variance in how different people learn and what they wish to do with the learning experience feeds her own enthusiasm for glass work.
