 Debbie Elicksen
People from all over North America have been coming to Debbie to ask about book publishing. As a book publishing expert, she works hand in hand with authors and companies that produce books, which many use to market their businesses.
Creating and editing words has played a large role in her primary work. She has authored ten books, including the bestselling Self-Publishing 101 (Self-Counsel Press) and Book Publishing 101 Second Edition. She has edited, ghosted, and project managed over 100 books, is a member of the Independent Publishers Association of Canada and Canadian Association of Professional Speakers.
Elicksen has been a sports writer and covered the National Hockey League for over 20 years. She had a weekly NHL column and has written and reported for several other publications and sports services. She has also authored 5 books about sports.
With several years experience working in both amateur and professional sports administration in hockey, baseball, and football, she was a volunteer with the Hockey Media Committee for the 1988 Olympic Winter Games, played a key role in junior football in Canada for 18 years, and was the first woman to headman a football conference in Canada as president of the Prairie Football Conference. She sat on the City of Calgary Sport Policy Steering Committee.
