 Shammi Khokhar
Shammi Khokhar was born and raised in northern India at the foothills of the Himalayas, where winters are cold and summers are pleasant. She received her Masters in Teaching from the Himachal University in India, where she was a teacher before coming to Canada in 1980 to join her husband.
In Canada, Shammi took training in early childhood education and currently works as an Education Assistant with the Calgary Board of Education. Cooking is Shammi’s passion. She learned to cook from her mother and still uses all of her little tips.
Shammi started teaching with Chinook Learning Services in 2006 and enjoys sharing her knowledge of the spices and traditions of India with her students.
