ESL & LINC Teaching Positions

Teaching for Chinook Learning Services offers flexible part-time and full-time assignments offering Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) and English as a Second Language (ESL) to adult learners.

Assignments can be:

• Daytime: Mon - Thu 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
• Daytime: Mon & Wed or Tue & Thu 12:45 pm - 3:00 pm
• Evenings: Tue - Thu 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
• Terms varying in length from 7 weeks to 15 weeks year round

Requirements for teaching :

• An interim or permanent Alberta Teaching Certificate
• A certificate/degree in teaching English as a Second Language or a minimum of some course work in this field
• A minimum of 2 years of ESL or EFL teaching experience with adults
• Significant ESL or EFL teaching experience will be considered in lieu or ESL coursework

The profile of teachers is varied. Teachers are:

• Teachers who wish to teach full-time
• Teachers who wish to teach part-time in the morning, afternoon, or evenings
• Full-time teachers in another program who wish to teach evening classes or during summer school
• Retired teachers who wish to remain connected with students and have a flexible schedule
